Typically, car wheels are the most susceptible to road damage compared to any other part of a car. They tend to hit potholes, curbs and many other objects. Therefore, they can cause damage to the alloy wheels which may leave your car in a bad state. Firstly, you will clean wheel using the liquid soap with warm water. After cleaning it, leave it for some time to dry. Using the towel, apply paint thinner on the damaged part of your wheel. Using soap and water wash the car wheels to remove any excess thinning paint and leave the wheel for a few minutes to dry. Use masking tape to cover areas of your fringe that have not been damaged then sand the damaged area gently using sandpaper with a grit of 400.

After the part you are sanding starts forming some rough grooves, you should stop sanding and use bond putty to cover those parts. After the putty dries for some minutes, use 600-grit sandpaper to sand the putty you applied until it is smooth enough.

Then, cover the rest of your car wheel as well as tire using the masking tape to stop overspray when you are applying the paint and lacquer. Then, you will be required to apply thin layers of paint to cover the putty then leave it to get dry completely.

When you are sure that the paint is dry, you can now use the 1200-grit sandpaper to sand the refurbished part of the wheels until it is smooth. Then, clean the area with warm water and soap the spray clear lacquer after it dries. Leave it for a whole night so that the clear lacquer can completely dry before you undertake the next procedure.

Once the lacquer has dried completely, you can now remove the masking tape from the entire wheel and wash it. Apply the alloy polish using a soft and dry cloth. The polishing should be done to the whole wheel so that it blends and shines. Then, ensure you take care of the wheels so that you avoid damaging the brim again.
